Reflection

After finally finishing this paper, I learned so much from it. One of the first things that I learned and was a challenge to deal with was choosing which source was primary or secondary. Generally when I would do a paper like this, I wouldn't have paid attention to the sources to much. With this paper, I had to read through all the sources and if that source had got it from somewhere else, I had to search the web for the original source of the information. Another thing that I learned about was how organized I had to be to complete the paper. We had set deadlines but I needed to make sure that I had all my information and highlight the important text in the information. Organization of your notes can lead to your downfall or can make a great paper. This paper challenged me to dig deeper then other work I have previously done, and also made me become more aware of how organized I need to become if I work on another paper like this.

Christmas

CHRISTMAS! Anybody who doesn't get a little excited hearing those words, there is something wrong with you. Christmas is my favorite time of the year. It is a time that I get to see all my family, people are in a happy mood, and seeing a Christmas tree in my living just makes me smile.

I will talk about what I normally do on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. Generally my family travel down to my grandparents house. My three other cousins and aunt join us. We have a nice family dinner of either homemade chicken and noodles, or a Christmas ham. After dinner we head over to the church for the Christmas Eve service. During the service, they give us candles and I always end up playing with the wax. When we return home, we sit in the kitchen playing card games. As it rounds time for bed, we go upstairs to go to bed. All six of us sleep in the same room. The boys normally get the feather beds on the floor, while us girls get the two beds.

The next morning when we wake up we have to make sure that everyone is up. We round everyone up into the living room and open our presents and stockings. In our stockings are lottery tickets. I never win anything thing but they are still fun to scratch off. After all of the presents have been open we go to the kitchen to have the traditional breakfast. Cinnamon rolls, homemade fruit cups, and hot chocolate.

Christmas is the best and always holds a special place in my heart.

Blogs

Why are we forced to write blogs? Blogs are ways to express what you are feeling or have feelings about. If we don't have anything to write about, why are we suppose to write about something that we are not passionate about.

I don't want to sit here and talk about politics. I have opinions but it is something that doesn't really interest me and I'm not informed enough to write anything about it. I could write about other people, but still, I don't really care about them.

I believe that is you have nothing to write about, not passionate about, we shouldn't be forced to write blogs for a grade.

Darfur

Many of you may not know this and I didn't know this until little over a year ago, but there is a major civil war happening in Darfur. The Dardurians were tired of poverty and not having their voice being heard, so a rebel groups rose up against the government in 2003. The government retaliated with the  scorched earth campaign by using a group of militia known as the Janjaweed to displace and kill the innocent civilians of Darfur.

The killing of the Darfurians is refereed to as genocide. Each day, over 100 people die and every month, 5,000 people die. Since the beginning of the war 400,000 people have lost their live and 2,500,000 were displaced.

The genocide in Darfur needs to stop. Even today it is still going on and the only way that this war is going to stop is if someone intervenes. What I personally believe is that the United Nations should step in and say something to the government and if need be use armed forces to help save the lives and help rebuild the country of Darfur.

Passing Out

Has anyone ever passed out? Have you had the feeling of lightheaded and can't see? The next thing you know your on the floor and someone is asking you if you are alright. Well I have and I'm going to tell you what happened.

I was job shadowing at the hospital. I had been up early in the morning and I didn't get the chance to eat breakfast because I was running late. For lunch I only had a sub sandwich and some root beer. I forgot to drink water that day so when I went to the hospital I was already feeling weird. For the job shadow we had to dress up nice so I have in a nice sweater that was getting kind of toasty. Some reason they have to have the hospital at a steaming one hundred degrees. I walked into a patients room and I started getting dizzy. I grabbed onto the wall and all of a sudden I woke up on the floor apologizing.

Passing out is something that is not fun. Since then, I have remembered to drink water in the morning so it doesn't happen again.

Closer to the Edge

Recently I have been listening to this song called Closer to the Edge by one of my favorite bands, 30 Seconds to Mars. 30 Seconds to Mars has so many deep lyrics and this song really stood out to me. The whole thing just reminds me of not to regret anything that happens.
This song taught me not to say sorry. I had regretted a past relationship but when I listened to this and how strongly they sang about not being sorry, it made me think that I don't need to regret anything and realize that this is what makes me me. The song says it best "I will never forget I will never regret I will live my life"

"I don't remember one moment, I tried to forget
I lost myself, is it better not said?
Now I'm closer to the edge

If it's a thousand to one and a million to two
Time to go down in flames and I'm taking you
Closer to the edge

No, I'm not saying I'm sorry
One day maybe we'll meet again
No, I'm not saying I'm sorry
One day maybe we'll meet again

(No, no, no, no)

Can you imagine a time when the truth ran free
The birth of a sun and the death of a dream
Closer to the edge

This never ending story
Hateful with pride and fate
We all fall short of glory, lost in ourselves

No, I'm not saying I'm sorry
One day maybe we'll meet again
No, I'm not saying I'm sorry
One day maybe we'll meet again

(No, no, no, no)

I will never forget
I will never regret
I will live my life

No, I'm not saying I'm sorry
One day maybe we'll meet again
No, I'm not saying I'm sorry
One day maybe we'll meet again

Closer to the edge
Closer to the edge "

Senior Night

I never though the day would come, my volleyball senior night. I always looked up at the seniors and now I know someone is looking up at me. I remembered last year at this time, I just kept thinking I cannot wait to be a senior. I can't wait for this to be all over. Now that I'm here I'm just like does it have to be over so soon, so quickly? What happened to all those years I had in front of me? In junior high when I started playing volleyball with my friends, it was so much fun and amazing. After this season I'm never going to play with them again. Senior night in a sum is about the most memorable and stressful thing in my high school career.
