Basketball

I have always played basketball. Ever since 3rd grade. It has been a big sport in my family and I have always been encouraged to play. The thing is I don't want to play. I have never been very fond of basketball and its just something that I particularly enjoy.
I have been thinking about quitting for some time, but am I going to regret it? Sure I had some great times during basketball and sometimes the games were fun, but is that the only reason that I play? Everyone always says its your senior year, your going to regret not going out. I don't know what to think about this because in ways I might regret it but I will never know unless I don't play.

just think about it.. you could be me and not be able to play.. and wanting to freak out every single time i hear "BASKETBALL".
yeah you may just want to be there and cheer then on, but then you might be like me and point out every mistake that they are doing..
but no i still think that you should play.

  3. I fully agree with both Josh and Stormi. Yeah sure its cliche to say its your senior year, but it is true. i mean think of all the great memories you have made with the girls. You could make so many memories. If you don't go out for it, your right there will always be the what if i should of or i wish would have. I am just saying this from your best friends view of everything. I am in the exact same boat as you. I don't want to play, i enjoy it a little bit sometimes, but i could live with out it. What you said about volleyball about you would rather go watch state volleyball with us rather than play in it. For some reason its the other way around for basketball for me. I would rather play with you on the court our senior year then go watch us play.

  4. Since I don't know you personally, I'll be able to give you a different opinion than your classmates & friends...
Sports are supposed to be fun and should be enjoyable. Sports have become more like a job requiring more and more hard work put in - And I personally do believe that hard work is necessary in order to excel in the sport. So if you don't really enjoy the sport then the hard work doesn't really seem worth it... That's how I was with track. It just wasn't fun anymore, so I decided not to go out. I decided I would rather spend my time doing things I enjoy, and I do not regret my decision at all!
If I were you, I would just make a list of pros and cons of going out AND not going out and then see. Good luck with your decision! :)
