Keep Fighting or Let Go

Imagine, someone or something that is important to you. You have it, it is yours. You are happy, ecstatic. You wake up every morning in a good mood, whistling, smiling like a fool. Nothing can seem to bring you down. Now imagine you don't have it anymore. You are sad and depressed. You go to your friends for advice about it and how to make you feel better. Well the most two common things that I think are the sayings "Let it go and if it comes back, it is meant to be" and "If it is worth fighting for, don't give up"

Doesn't it seem like they contradict each other. How can these two sayings be used for the same situation? My question is when is it right to keep fighting and when is it time to let go? I have come to the realization that you fight for something as much as you can and when you can't fight anymore or you realize it is time to let go, you let it go. Then you sit and see if it will come back.

  1. I think that it is important to keep fighting for something you love for as long as you can. I know how hard it is to let go of something. It is a hard situation to just wake and know that the thing you love the most isn't there anymore. Keep fighting for as long as you can, if you think that you can't fight anymore than you know that it is time to let go. Don't just give up on something that makes you happy.

  2. I agree you need to always fight for something you love. There is also a point where you just need to let go and move on. You shouldn't have to fight for something when they aren't willing to fight for you. I recently just had to let go of someone that meant a lot to me, so your words were very inspiring. I fought and it went no where. I let go. And now I must just sit and wait.
